Mental Illness does not define someone! It's nothing more than a diagnosis. Bipolar Disorder is an illness I have; it in no way defines who I am! There are so many things in my life that define me; Bipolar is not one of them! There is a huge stigma that society attaches to mental illness. For someone to feel ashamed of an illness they have due to society’s misconceptions is in no way acceptable. I wouldn't trade my "storm" in for anything because it has made me who I am today and has given me what I need to go forth with the strength and the courage that I have developed through it all.
